How To Connect Your Android or iOS Device To Windows 10
If you use your PC more often; you might find yourself looking at your phone for any notifications, text messages, photos, and more. If that’s the case why not link your Android or IOS devices to your PC and get access to all these right from your Windows 10 PC.
This feature works without data connection once it has been set up and the connection isn’t a barrier since it doesn’t involve a Bluetooth (except for calls) or wifi connection; just set it up and you can manage your device on your PC from anywhere at anywhere.
However, the feature is only Windows 10’s April 2018 Update or later users and for Android users on V7.0 or above. The app doesn’t do much with iPhones, as Apple won’t let Microsoft or other third parties integrate as deeply with the iPhone’s iOS operating system.
For this tutorial, we’ll be using an official Microsoft app called “Your Phone.” It’s installed on your Windows 10 computer by default.
REQUIREMENTS
- Android 7.0 or above
- Your Phone Companion — DOWNLOAD HERE
- Windows 10
- A Microsoft account (you can create one on set-up)
HOW TO LINK YOUR ANDROID OR IOS DEVICE TO WINDOWS 10?

- Next, choose what type of device you use and continue., “Android or IOS”.
- Next, launch the Phone companion you downloaded above on your android

- You’ll be shown a code to scan from your PC screen
- Scan the code with your phone and till you get connected.
- Grant the app its required permission to enable it to function perfectly by clicking “ALLOW” to any prompt that comes up.
- Next is to allow the app to run in the background to avoid disconnection from your PC, click “ALLOW” to the prompt too.
